Lahore Traffic Police Finalise Traffic Plan for New Year’s Night
The Lahore Traffic Police have finalised a comprehensive traffic management plan for New Year’s night to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety across the city.
According to officials, the plan is being implemented under the supervision of zonal and divisional officers. As part of the arrangements, 20 DSPs along with more than 1,400 traffic inspectors and wardens have been deployed at key locations throughout Lahore.
The Traffic Response Unit will remain on standby to immediately address illegal parking, road blockages, and other traffic violations. Additional personnel have been posted at major intersections and flyovers, including Azadi Flyover, Liberty Chowk, and Defence Main Boulevard.
Key roads such as Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, and Main Boulevard Gulberg will have an increased traffic presence. Extra wardens have also been stationed at entry and exit points on Mall Road to manage congestion during peak hours.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Dr. Athar Waheed directed strict action against individuals involved in reckless driving, drifting, one-wheeling, stunts, or blocking roads. He said Safe City cameras will be actively used to identify violators and ensure swift enforcement.
All administrative staff have also been deployed on the roads to strengthen traffic control. The CTO urged parents to closely monitor their children during New Year celebrations and warned that motorcycles driven by underage riders will be immediately confiscated.

The Lahore Traffic Police reiterated a zero-tolerance policy toward traffic violations and appealed to citizens to follow traffic rules to ensure a safe and peaceful New Year’s night in the city.
