Punjab Expands Electric Bus Service to Five More Cities

The Punjab government has announced a major expansion of its electric bus service, confirming plans to introduce the eco-friendly public transport system in five additional cities as part of the province’s ongoing transport and environmental initiatives.

According to an official notice issued under the provincial government’s public transport program, electric buses will soon be launched in Rajanpur, Gujar Khan, Bahawalpur, Toba Tek Singh, and Rahim Yar Khan. The expansion aims to improve urban mobility while promoting sustainable and low-emission transportation options across Punjab.

The electric buses will be equipped with modern passenger amenities, including air conditioning, onboard Wi-Fi, and accessibility features for persons with disabilities. Officials stated that these facilities are intended to enhance passenger comfort and encourage wider use of public transport.
