Karachi Traffic Police Issue Over 234,000 E-Challans in a Single Day

The Karachi Traffic Police have issued over 234,000 e-challans in a single day as part of their ongoing enforcement drive aimed at improving road safety and ensuring compliance with traffic laws across the city.

According to traffic police officials, the action was taken during the 72nd day of the e-challan campaign, which involves strict monitoring of major roads under the supervision of the DIG Traffic office. The campaign focuses on curbing traffic violations through round-the-clock camera surveillance.

The enforcement drive also included action against official vehicles, with more than 2,800 e-challans issued to government vehicles and police mobiles found violating traffic rules. In addition, the traffic police intensified checks on heavy vehicles.

Officials confirmed that over 4,000 e-challans were issued to dumpers, trucks, oil tankers, and water tankers, citing violations such as over-speeding, lane discipline breaches, and wrong-way driving.

Karachi Traffic Police have advised citizens to strictly follow traffic rules, particularly avoiding wrong-way driving and over-speeding, as surveillance cameras are actively monitoring traffic 24/7. Authorities stated that the primary objective of the e-challan campaign is to promote road discipline and reduce traffic accidents in Karachi.
