The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has unveiled a comprehensive traffic plan for New Year’s Eve to ensure public safety and keep traffic flowing smoothly across the city.

According to a CTP spokesperson, more than 600 traffic personnel have been deployed, while seven special squads have been formed to prevent one-wheeling, racing, car skidding, and other reckless activities.

The special squads will remain active on major roads, including Mall Road, Peshawar Road, Bank Road, Jhelum Road, Old Airport Road, Murree Road, and Sixth Road. Additional traffic wardens will also be stationed at churches, parks, and recreational areas to manage traffic during public and religious gatherings.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam directed circle and sector in-charges to maintain strict surveillance and ensure close coordination. He ordered action against vehicles with tinted windows, unregistered vehicles, and missing or irregular number plates, warning that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
