The Sindh government has announced strict penalties for transporters as part of a province-wide effort to improve road safety and enforce compliance with traffic laws and route permit conditions. Authorities have warned that vehicles will be seized if operators fail to follow the newly reinforced regulations.

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that transporters must ensure their vehicles operate within speed limits, avoid overloading, wrong overtaking, and reckless driving, and comply fully with safety requirements. He stressed that violations will no longer be tolerated under the updated enforcement policy.

The government has also mandated adherence to axle-load limits under the National Highway Safety Ordinance. In addition, the use of gas has been banned in inter-district transport vehicles as well as school and college transport, citing safety concerns.

Further safety measures include making emergency exits and first aid boxes mandatory in all public service vehicles. Only vehicles with complete documentation and drivers holding valid and genuine licenses will be permitted to operate. For long-distance routes of 322 kilometers or more, vehicles must have two licensed drivers to reduce accident risks.

Transporters have been directed to obtain valid route permits by February 28, after which authorities will launch a strict crackdown. The Sindh government has warned that violators will face vehicle confiscation, FIR registration, and suspension of vehicle registration by the Excise Department in cases of non-compliance.
